Training Pastors and National Workers to become leaders and provide the Gospel to people in India.

Training Pastors

Training Pastors

Training pastors lies at the heart of what we do because the need for training among national workers is so great. Our training lays a foundation for long-term success in the pastor’s personal life in the Lord and in his public ministry as he serves the people in India.

Using a comprehensive curriculum published by BILD International, our pastor training consists of 25 Leadership Series courses. The solid foundation a national worker builds through study and practical projects will serve him well for years to come, long after his 5-year term with Serve India.

Leadership Series I courses include:

  • Pauline Epistles: Strategies for Establishing Churches
  • Understanding the Essentials of Sound Doctrine
  • Preaching, Teaching, and Worship in the Early Church
  • Character of a Leader

Series II courses deepen understanding of biblical theology and how it applies in today’s culture. Some of these:

  • Toward a Theology in Culture
  • Old Testament Theology: The Law
  • New Testament Theology: Luke-Acts and the Pauline Epistles

See a complete listing of the courses comprising the BILD Leadership Series.

When you sponsor a pastor for $35/month, part of your donation goes to provide for his BILD training. Sponsor a national pastor.

Training National Workers

Training leaders in the local church: growing in faith and outreach

Pastor training is just the beginning—there’s more! Our church planting model promotes training the elders, deacons, and other volunteers who work alongside a local pastor.

Each pastor we train in turn trains 5 elders in his local church using the appropriate training track through BILD International. As a pastor establishes new mission stations, for example, these elders often travel with him to disciple new followers of Christ. You don’t have one leader attempting to do it all; you have a trained team of individuals working together in a spirit of unity and love—in itself a powerful witness to the reality of Christ.
